East Hardy Archery State Tournament

The 2009 East Hardy Archery team traveled to Summersville for the State Tournament for the second consecutive year.
The Cougars focused on their shots and garnered another third place finish in the High School division with a score of 3,122.
The Cougars were only 38 points shy of third place overall.
Tyler Kerr led East Hardy with a personal best 279 points followed by Chris Dove with 275.
East Hardy scoring included newcomer, Tyler Brill with 273 points followed by Kolby Foltz with 267, Resha Miller (266), Ethan Fansler (265), Anjelica King (245), Nathan Shoemaker (253), Jamie Miller (253), and Kollin Foltz (216).

The State Tournament is March 28th in Summersville with nearly 500 archers competing.

On Saturday, March 21st, Alex Foltz went 2 for 4 with one run in an 11-1 victory over Northeastern.
Foltz got a double as he sent the ball flying down the left field line in the fifth inning.
In the sixth inning, Foltz singled to short to juice the bases.
Teammate, David Herbek hit a ground rule double to bring Foltz home.
The Dukes exploded for nine runs in the sixth inning.
Foltz is currently fifth on the team with a batting average of .317.
Foltz leads the team in steal attempts (11), walks (13), stolen bases (t-9), fielding percentage (t-1.000).
Foltz has 21 runs (t-3rd) on the season thus far and is third on the team with an on base percentage of .463.
Foltz is enjoying his experience at James Madison and is studying Kinesiology with a concentration in Sports Management.
“My experience here is great. I hope that we can repeat as Conference champs and go a little further than we did last year,” Foltz said.
His family comes out to watch his games on a regular basis.
The younger East Hardy Foltz clan of baseball talent; Kollin, Kolby, and Korey enthusiastically watched and cheered for Alex.

Cougars Fall to Tucker Co. at State

Tucker County beat East Hardy at the girl's state tournament, Wednesday, by a score of 49 to 44.

East Hardy had 29.5% Field Goals
Tucker County had 35.2%

Molly Look Scored 16 points while Emily Beck and Lindsey Basye each had nine. Ashley Dove had eight points.

East Hardy had 36 rebounds while Tucker County had 37. Beck lead East Hardy with nine rebounds.

For Tucker County, Bevin Hull and Lyndsey Nestor had 16 points each. Carolyn Bennett had 11 points. Nestor lead rebounds with 10.

Charleston Road Trip!

For the first time since 2002, the Lady Cougars have earned a spot at the 
WV State Basketball Tournament in Charleston.
East Hardy edged out Tygarts Valley, 42-41 in the Region 3 SuperRegional Championship.
The seniors now have an overall record of 75-20.
Molly Look led the Lady Cougars with ten points and four assists.
Emily Beck had nine points, eight blocked shots and six caroms.
Emily Biller had nine points and seven rebounds.
