Moorefield Youth Wrestling

The Moorefield Youth Wrestling League was proudly represented by six talented wrestlers at the 2009 WV Jr. State Wrestling Championships held in Parkersburg, WV on March 7 and 8. The wrestlers were selected by their coaches to wrestle on behalf of the Moorefield League. Wrestling for the Moorefield Team was Will Schoonover (11-12 115 lbs.), Zach Hose (11-12 85 lbs), Isaac Van Meter (5-6 55 lbs.), Matthew Jenkins (5-6 50 lbs.), Ty Clayton (5-6 40 lbs), and Ivy Mongold (5-6 40 lbs.). Placing in their weight class was Will Schoonover – 6th place, Isaac Van Meter – 6th place, and Matthew Jenkins – 6th place. The state tournament is highly regarded as a challenging and prestigious event and the Moorefield Youth Wrestling League is extremely proud of the representing wrestlers.

Brittany Wright, MHS alumnus and PSC Captain, had two singles and two RBI's
in helping the Lady Catamounts win the WPCC Championship.
Kayla Stickel hit a three-run home run to seal the victory in the sixth inning.
Stickel allowed only two hits and walked one batter as the PSC pitcher.

Lindsey Basye Hits for Cycle

CYCLE: Lindsey Basye

East Hardy softball player Lindsey Basye hit for the cycle in the Lady Cougars' 14-3 win against Gilmer County at the Glenville Invitational. She is the first player in school history to hit for the cycle.
Basye notched her first career home run during that cycle.

Cycle: When a player hits a single, double, triple, and a home run in one game.

Congrats on this achievement!
