2009 Moorefield Junior League Softball

The Moorefield Junior League Softball team is competing in the State Tournament in Hedgesville, WV.  
Moorefield defeated Beckley West 11-0 in the first game.
Haley Arose went 4-for-4 with three runs.
Michaela Regester had three runs and three RBIs
Courtney Parker had three RBIs and one run.
Sarah Liller, Katelynn Wills, and Shayna Vetter each had a run.
Jayme Fraley had one run.
The team batted .406 for the game!

Moorefield beat St. Albans 5-0 in the second game of the State Tournament.
St. Albans had a 49-0 record before falling to Moorefield.
Haley Arose and Michaela Regester each scored two runs.
Jayme Fraley contributed one run.
Brooke Shockey and Katelynn Wills both had two RBIs.

Moorefield will play in the Championship Game on Wednesday with a trip to Ft. Myers, FL on the line.  The game in Florida is the Junior League Southeastern Regional Tournament.

Cobwebs

You know something is not used much when you see cobwebs on it.
Well, this site has been dormant for too long.
I am finally dusting off the cobwebs and getting this blog in gear.
The summer sports scene is departing to make room for high school...FOOTBALL, GOLF, and VOLLEYBALL.

WVU Basketball

WVU Basketball in the News
WVU senior Alex Ruoff recently signed to play for the Washington Wizards.
Due to some changes during the off-season, Milwaukee Bucks player and Mountaineer alum Joe Alexander may become the starter at the small forward position.
The USA World University Games basketball team and WVU forward Da'Sean Butler defeated Finland in the first round of the World University Games 87-40.  Butler scored six points for Team USA.
